Skip Counting Hopscotch

We started learning to skip count last summer and found some cute songs that helped Sammy remember 2s, 5s, 10s and 100s. He’s pretty obsessed with numbers still so every time we get the sidewalk chalk out, he asks for different number sets. His favorite is skip counting by 100s so the final spot isContinue reading “Skip Counting Hopscotch”

Sidewalk Chalk Water Painting

Apparently when you mix sprinkler time with sidewalk chalk time, you end up with a beautiful mess! Just saturate your chalk in water and draw on the wet ground and watch your little ones “paint” a masterpiece!

Pom Poms Color Sorting

Can you tell we LOVE Pom Poms over here? In fact, my kids first learned to love Poms Poms when grandma would watch them and let them “Pop the Pom Poms,” and essentially throw a bag of hundreds of Poms all over the house, some of which I am still finding in random nooks andContinue reading “Pom Poms Color Sorting”

Froot Loops Rainbow Craft

This is one of my favorite snack crafts we have done. It worked great with my toddler and my preschooler. WARNING: Many froot loops were consumed during the making of this craft – and maybe some with glue. All you need to complete this at home is: Froot loops cereal Bowl School glue Printout orContinue reading “Froot Loops Rainbow Craft”

ABC’s Matching Game!

My two year old loves this super simple matching game. And she’s really good at it! I originally made it for my son to match lower case letters to uppercase and decided to modify it so my daughter could start with matching upper case to upper case. I used 1/3 poster board, drew 26 circlesContinue reading “ABC’s Matching Game!”

Sprinkles Letters!

We love doing Sprinkles crafts (and eating them). When we do letters, I usually have my son write the letters in marker then trace with school glue and then pour on the sprinkles! Don’t forget to use a deep pan or craft tray when doing this at home or sprinkles will go everywhere!

Homemade ABCs Soup

Growing up “Sopa” was my favorite dish. It wasn’t until I got older that I learned that “Sopa” just meant “soup” in Spanish. My mother always used La Moderna Alphabet pasta. They are like 50 cents a bag and a great way for my kids to see and eat their ABCs. And I love thatContinue reading “Homemade ABCs Soup”

Pom Poms Popsicle Stick Letters

We made these Pom Pom popsicle sticks to practice making shapes and letters and decided to spruce them up with colorful Pom Poms, because, why not? Pom poms make everything more fun! Without a curved line, you can still make about 15 letters and several different shapes depending on how many sticks you make. WeContinue reading “Pom Poms Popsicle Stick Letters”

DIY Foam Alphabet Magnets

I’ve had these magnet letters for four years and as you can see they have been well-loved by both kids! We use them to learn the alphabet and learning to blend letter sounds and sight words. I just used the $4 set of Munchkin foam letters and numbers, some craft magnet buttons, and hot glueContinue reading “DIY Foam Alphabet Magnets”

Shapes Twister – Sidewalk Chalk Game

Twister was always a fun game to play as a child. Mostly to see how tangled up we could get before falling down. We’ve been having to get creative with our sidewalk chalk lately, and decided to draw games on the ground instead of the usual flowers and letters. This Shapes Twister game has beenContinue reading “Shapes Twister – Sidewalk Chalk Game”
